Context

We manufacture the world’s leading drone for indoor industrial inspection. Our technology enables the world’s largest asset owners to send robotic solutions in confined spaces and hazardous environments instead of human beings. Flyability was founded in 2014, and is headquartered in Switzerland with offices in Denver and Singapore, and a global team of about 100 people. Our solution is used by thousands of customers worldwide, in a wide variety of industries including Energy, Power Generation, Mining, Chemicals, Maritime, and Public Infrastructure.

We are looking for a Field Operations Manager to be the technical specialist for our North American office. This role will be responsible for all of the field operations in the territory, and for technical activities such as drone fleet maintenance and management. The Field Operations Manager will work closely with the sales team on field activities such as demonstrations and Proof of Concepts. This role will also assist with first-line support and training as needed.

On a day-to-day basis, you will often be traveling to assist with demonstrations and perform Proof of Concepts in-asset on industrial sites. You will also be called to support our customers by providing technical expertise for their various inspection missions, as well as offer first-line support if needed. You will assist the North American team with your piloting skills as needed during events. You will be the owner of the technical operations of the North American office, so we are looking for someone with technical expertise in drones or robotics, who is independent and has field experience.

Your role
  • Fly the drone inside of industrial assets for demonstrations and Proof of Concepts on industrial sites for prospects and customers to demonstrate the value of the product
  • Provide customers and partners with assistance in mission planning and execution, and provide them with first-line support
  • Assist the sales team with complex piloting needs during events and during roadshows
  • Assist the successful onboarding of customers by walking them through the training process, and performing training when needed
  • Perform maintenance and piloting training for partners
  • Coordinate trainings for customers with commercial partners
  • Manage training and technical partnerships
  • Manage fleet of demo drones
  • Manage our technical and training center in Denver
  • Assist with inventory management and logistics
  • Assist with other tasks required by the team as needed
Your profile
  • Proactivity, integrity, and the ability to work in an international team
  • Extensive experience operating drones or robotic devices
  • Experience working on industrial sites (refineries, chemical plants, mines, etc.)
  • Experience processing visual data and 3d models
  • Experience working in a customer facing role, providing support and expertise
  • Spanish is strongly preferred
  • FAA Part 107 preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and/or equivalent experience required
  • Ability to load, unload, set up equipment weighing 50-70 pounds
  • Ability to work on industrial sites, which may require climbing multiple flights of stairs, working at heights, or working in hazardous environments
  • Ability to work in the United States and drive a vehicle

Travel

Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time. An annual trip to our headquarters in Switzerland may be requested.
