Quality Manager

Your role:

For this full-time and permanent position, your mission will consist in ensuring that quality, regulations and compliance requirements are met to support Flyability growth. In direct report to the VP of Operation, you will lead the Quality Department and work in close collaboration with Manufacturing, Supply, R&D and Customer Support teams.

What you will own:

  • Managing a team of 3 people: Quality Control Technician, Manufacturing Continuous Improvement Engineer and Supplier Development engineer
  • Owning Quality Department strategy, policies, processes and procedures to support operational excellence
  • Collaborating with Customer Support to understand and address issues raised from the field
  • Collaborating with Firmware/Software Quality Engineer
  • Ensuring outgoing quality (testing of drones and spare parts, debugging)
  • Defining testing requirements and procedures (including new test benches development)
  • Leading Supplier Quality (from product development to serial life, supplier performance and support to Sourcing department)
  • Leading Quality Alerts life cycle from identification to closure
  • Ensuring that corrective/preventive actions needed are appropriately implemented
  • Communicating quality requirements and driving improvements through sustaining activities or during New Product Development and Introduction
  • Defining, monitoring and reporting quality metrics;
  • Being the Regulatory Affairs reference (certifications, regulations follow up)
  • Communicating appropriately within the Organization to provide insights, drive alignment and promote Quality culture
  • Supporting ad-hoc external communication in relation to quality matters

Your profile:

  • 5+ years industrial experience in Quality with significant exposure to Quality Assurance System requirements
  • Master degree in Electronics or Mechanical engineering
  • Technical systems knowledge related to electronics, mechanical assemblies and ideally softwares
  • Strong knowledge in usual quality tools and methodologies
  • Experience in/exposure to Regulatory Affairs topics
  • Professional certifications are an asset
  • Coding notions are an asset
  • Fluent spoken and written English, French is an asset
  • Player with collaborative, fact-based, solution-focused approach
  • Rigorous, pragmatic and able to take a step back to decide best course of action
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, cross-functional team player
  • Effective communication skills and ability to influence others
