January 29th, 2026 — Flyability, manufacturer of the Elios 3 UT inspection solution, is hosting a 2-day event in Athens focused on the maritime sector, with major sponsors including ABS, FlyScout, JGC, & Cygnus Instruments.
On the 24th and 25th of February 2026, Flyability is inviting maritime professionals and ship surveyors from around the world for a series of presentations, demos, and panel discussions focused on digitalization, maritime innovation, and what Remote Inspection Technologies (RITs) bring to non-destructive testing in this critical sector.
The event will host over 150+ attendees, with visitors from around the world gathering to network, hear from expert panels, and share their experiences. The focus on NDT drones will provide insights to vessel owners and maritime organizations about how this technology is boosting safety and efficiency. The list of class societies attending currently includes ABS, ClassNK, Lloyds Register, Korean Register, CCS, Rina, and Bureau Veritas, alongside maritime organizations like INTERTANKO, INTERCARGO, AUTOASSESS, and IACS. The prestigious guest list reflects the calibre of speakers and topics expected at this unique event.
The packed agenda for this event kicks off with a welcome coffee, provided by Bronze sponsors Orbidron, Drone Eksperten, DROBOTiQS, MaDfly, and Phenicia UTM. The rest of the Day 1 agenda focuses on expert insights from both Elios 3 users and industry leaders, including IACS, TotalEnergies, CAN Group, and platinum sponsors ABS. A mix of panel discussions, keynote presentations, and user testimonials will be spread over the course of the day. Lunch will be offered by Silver sponsor JGC, and the day will conclude with a gala dinner hosted by Platinum sponsor ABS (American Bureau of Shipping).
The second day of Flyability's 2026 Maritime Drone Days, sponsored by Gold Sponsors, FlyScout, and Emerald Sponsors Cygnus Instruments, brings a more interactive approach: attendees will be taken to a ship docked in Athens port, where they can fly the Elios 3 and test the ultrasonic thickness payload under the guidance of Flyability's expert team. This field day was organized in collaboration with the Averof Ship Museum, a historic vessel from the Greek Navy, providing a unique opportunity to train with the Elios 3 on a ship.
The Maritime Drone Days would not be possible without its sponsors. Platinum sponsor ABS and Gold sponsor FlyScout will be in attendance, alongside Emerald sponsor Cygnus Instruments and Silver sponsor JGC. Our thanks to our sponsors are also extended to the previously mentioned Bronze sponsors, who round out an extensive variety of industry leaders represented in our sponsor list. With their support, the 2026 Maritime Drone Days will bring together classification societies, service providers, vessel owners, international organizers, and equipment manufacturers to discuss the future of NDT in maritime and the crucial role drones can play.
Registration for the Maritime Drone Days on the 24th and 25th of February is still open; however, with limited places available and high sign-up numbers thus far, Flyability expects to close registration soon. The Maritime Drone Days website provides additional information and contact details for prospective visitors who wish to learn more.
