June 7, 2021—This week Flyability leadership will present at the 2021 SelectUSA Investment Summit, sharing best practices on how to enter the U.S. market as a foreign-based startup and how to establish a drone company in the U.S.

SelectUSA is the largest organization devoted to promoting foreign direct investment (FDI) in the United States. One way it does this is by encouraging foreign-based startups to enter U.S. markets, and another is by connecting foreign-based startups that already work in the U.S. with foreign companies interested in working there so they can share best practices.

This week, SelectUSA will be holding its annual Investment Summit, with speakers presenting on twelve different tracks that range from Global Market Dynamics to Finding Your Workforce. Flyability SA’s CEO Patrick Thévoz and Flyability Inc’s VP of Sales Alexandre Meldem will both present in the Summit’s Tech track, drawing from their experiences with bringing Flyability’s indoor Elios drones into U.S. markets.

“We are honored to be a part of the 2021 SelectUSA Investment Summit,” says Patrick Thévoz, CEO of Flyability. “We have worked hard to bring our unique indoor drones to U.S. customers, helping them significantly reduce turnaround times and improve safety, and I’m excited to share some of the best practices we’ve picked up along the way so that we can help other startups follow in our footsteps.”

Today, Monday, June 7, Patrick Thévoz will be part of a panel of CEOs at innovative, foreign-based early-stage and startup companies called Startup Success Stories. Panel members will speak about the challenges they’ve faced entering the U.S. market, how they’ve adapted to the U.S. business environment, and how their lessons can be applied to other businesses.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 8, Flyability Inc’s VP of Sales Alexandre Meldem will be part of a panel called Best Practices for Establishing your Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Company in the U.S. The session will cover best practices for establishing a drone company in the U.S., including common challenges and opportunities for foreign-based companies when entering the U.S. market.

Early last year Meldem became the first U.S.-based employee at Flyability, helping to found the company’s first U.S. office in Denver, Colorado. Since then he has been instrumental in securing and growing Flyability’s U.S. presence, providing key support to customers in established sectors like Oil & Gas and Power Generation, and helping grow the use of indoor drones for internal visual inspections in emerging markets, including Wastewater Management, Mining, and Food & Beverage.

“After spending over a year growing Flyability’s presence in Switzerland I was thrilled to help open our first office in North America at the start of 2020,” says Alexandre Meldem, VP of Sales at Flyability Inc. “Now, after a year and a half in the U.S., I’m excited to share what I’ve learned so far about successfully bringing a foreign drone startup into the U.S.”
