Visual inspections in confined spaces are known to be risky, long, and expensive — but they don’t have to be
Are your internal inspections expensive due to long downtimes and the need to build and take down scaffolding? Are they dangerous due to the need for entering confined spaces and standing at height? An indoor drone reduces the need for scaffolding, increasing your savings while also keeping your inspectors out of harm's way.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is special about Flyability's technology?
The biggest technical problem related to using drones indoor and in confined spaces is the risk of collisions. A collision does not only mean a risk of braking propellers but also a risk of bringing the drone into a position where it can no longer fly. Both situations lead to the same tragic end: a crash.
Unlike many drone manufacturers, we did not set to find a solution to sense and avoid obstacles. We rather opted for a solution to be tolerant to collisions. With this approach, our products started to be used for inspection in dark and complex confined spaces when sense avoid technology was far from being ready for it. Today, it is still extremely difficult to perform these kinds of inspections and get the same level of data quality by relying on sense and avoid technology alone.
Thanks to our proprietary collision tolerant flight algorithm, our latest product – Elios 3 – is the leading platform to perform remote visual inspection, mapping, and surveying in confined spaces available in mass production.
Is Flyability providing inspection services?
Flyability is not a service provider but a drone manufacturer. We have an internal team of pilots which is primarily assigned to training and demonstrations. We are happy to deploy our staff to your site if you are interested in a demonstration, a proof of concept, or if you want to get personal training on our products.
How much does it cost to perform indoor inspections with drones?
The cost of performing drone-based indoor inspections instead of manned inspections at your plant depends on many factors. It depends on your environment, your team, the material you require, the frequency at which you perform them, etc.
In average, our clients see a return on investment within the first year of use. Some see a 10x return on investment within the first flight.
Are Flyability products ATEX, Ex Rated, or Intrinsically Safe?
No, they are not. However, this does not prevent Flyability's clients to inspect tanks, fluid catalytic crackers, oil cargo tanks, and many other places aiming at storing or processing highly explosive goods. Like for any manned inspection, these environments must be cleaned and inerted prior to being inspected. Flyability products still bring tremendous value to our clients and keep in mind that drones do not breathe so they are very comfortable in nitrogen inerted environments.
If you want to learn more on this topic, you can read this extensive article explaining why drones are not intrinsically safe.
Does Flyability work with resellers?
Yes. We have a network of 70 resellers around the world who are trained to demonstrate the technology, provide training, and perform maintenance operations on our products. You can find the complete list here.
