The list of Top Drone Companies was first created in 2016, and the drone industry has come a long way since then. The advent of the FAA’s Part 107 rules in the summer of 2016 created a clear path to certification for commercial drone pilots, and clear rules to define an emerging industry. Over the last few years drones have gone down in price while their cameras have grown more and more sophisticated, and these days the proliferation of use cases and new technology in the drone industry is truly incredible. To keep pace with the booming growth of the drone industry, this year 100 companies were selected in 10 different categories throughout the drone industry as the Top Companies to Watch. The size of the list is representative of how large the drone industry has become, as does the addition of several new categories for 2018, including Drone Delivery, FPV Racing, Drone Conferences & Events, and STEM & Education.

The list of top companies was created by UAV Coach, a drone industry leader in providing news, resources, and training materials. UAV Coach publishes regularly about the drone industry, and sends out a newsletter every Saturday to a subscriber list of 50,000+ drone enthusiasts.
