After less than 5 years in business, this award comes as a recognition of the milestones accomplished by Flyability. From two founders in 2014 to 85 full time employees today, the company has become the market leader of indoor drones and one of the leading international industrial robotics company.

Pioneering a technically challenging niche of the drone market, Flyability has acquired over 400 customers all around the world and achieved multiple challenges. Notably, Flyability drones have inspected the site of Chernobyl,  explored the Greenland ice cap to help understand the impacts of climate change, and is currently used in over 50% of US nuclear power plants. Flyability Elios drones are increasingly becoming the standard to remotely inspect confined spaces such as boilers, chimneys, tunnels or tanks.

“Beyond engineering drones, we are in the business of increasing workers' safety, reducing downtimes of industrial infrastructures, and preventing risks of larger catastrophes,” says Patrick Thévoz, CEO at Flyability. “The challenges we met until now go beyond pure technological ones: understanding this market to build the right product has been our major challenge as a pioneer. The huge commercial success of the new generation of products we launched this year is in great part due to the amount of customer feedback we gathered and implemented on our products. ”

The future looks bright for the winner of the 2019’s edition of the TOP 100 SWISS STARTUP AWARD. With more than 50% growth in revenue this year and its involvement in the prestigious DARPA challenge, the company is laying down the technological bricks towards automation. “Down the line, we will bring our customers actionable data on the health of their infrastructure without human intervention and them having to even care about the means used to acquire this data.”
