Soeul, September 13, 2024 — Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and Flyability SA have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work together on developing advanced drone technology for unmanned indoor inspections in Samsung's semiconductor facilities. The collaboration aims to improve safety and efficiency in indoor spaces.
Flyability SA, a Swiss drone technology company, will utilize its expertise in drone technology to develop and supply drones for the project. Samsung will be responsible for maintaining and servicing the systems resulting from this collaboration to ensure seamless integration of the advanced technology into their operations.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Seoul
Both Samsung and Flyability are committed to using technology to drive safety and efficiency standards. With the use of Flyability’s drone technology, Samsung intends to establish the use cases and opportunities for drones in inspecting and analyzing the state of equipment and/or infrastructure within their semiconductor facilities. Example applications to be explored may include using drones for change detection and tracking to optimize inspection efficiency alongside other industrial processes.
