What to Expect at the 2024 Flyability User Conference

Learn all you need to know about what to expect at the next User Conference hosted by Flyability.

The upcoming Flyability User Conference will take place on March 6-8, 2024 in Switzerland. We are particularly excited about hosting the event in Lausanne; the city is nestled along the shores of Lake Leman, with a view across to the Alps. It is also our home - Flyability started here out of the EPFL Robotics lab in 2014. A decade later, we are so excited to be hosting our first Europe-based edition of the User Conference so close to home. The venue for the event is the Hotel Alpha Palmiers

How will the User Conference work?

The event will be split over 2 days. The agenda will be broken down into keynote presentations, networking opportunities, and panel discussions. The aim of this event is to facilitate conversations and connections between professionals using the Elios drone from around the world. There is also the opportunity to have one-to-one sessions with Flyability staff members and hear about our vision for the future of the Elios 3 and beyond. We will be using this event to make exclusive announcements and share the latest news, and attendees will be able to ask questions of the Flyability team directly.

On Thursday afternoon and Friday, attendees can choose to take part in optional training. The training will be run by our expert team on an industrial site to recreate conditions professionals will encounter when on assignment. The trainers will go over best practices for flying in confined spaces, drone maintenance, and specific payload training.

Here is a round-up from the 2023 edition of the Flyability User Conference in Denver, Colorado

Who will be speaking at the Flyability User Conference?

Our full roster of speakers will be announced over the coming weeks, and we have stacked it full of specialists from a variety of industries.

Here are the key things to expect:

  • Major announcements from Flyability: Flyability will be presenting a major piece of news as well as the future roadmap for the Elios 3. Attendees will be the first to know about upcoming features and planned developments, as well as be able to ask questions.
  • Expert Guest speakers: We have guest speakers coming from around the world to attend the User Conference and share their work and experiences. They will have in-depth presentations on their area of expertise, and take questions from the audience at the end. The industries being featured include mining, surveying, cement, nuclear waste management, and high-level inspections amongst more! Company names include Holcim, Cargill, and Bureau Veritas with speaker names to be announced soon…

  • The Fishbowl Sessions: For attendees who choose not to attend the training, we will be having a special session called the Fishbowl. This will be a dynamic part of the conference. During the Fishbowl, we offer the chance for attendees who have a particular passion project or unique case study to share their experience. Short, 10-minute pitches will be made including questions before passing on to the next speaker. If you’re attending and interested in sharing something during the Fishbowl, please contact our event coordinator at eloise.mcminnmitchell@flyability.com
