February 6, 2020 – Flyability, Swiss creator of the groundbreaking Elios 2 drone for indoor inspections, will be hosting a two-day conference March 18 and 19 in Denver, CO to inaugurate the opening of its first U.S. office.

In an upcoming two-day conference Flyability will host over 100 attendees and a dozen featured speakers, including representatives from various U.S. companies that use its drones for indoor inspections.

The event will take place on March 18 and 19 at the Colorado School of Mines. Attendance is free to those who register before March 1.

"The drone inspection market is still in infancy, and we are thrilled to have this opportunity to bring together professionals who are evaluating UAVs and the pioneers who have scaled up their operations and enabled unprecedented savings and risk reduction," says Flyability co-founder and CEO, Patrick Thévoz. "We are thrilled to have this opportunity to learn and share the learnings from the last four years of deploying drones instead of humans for dangerous indoor inspection jobs. "

The first day of the two-day conference will be devoted to talks and panels on indoor UAS  inspections in various applications across U.S. industries, including Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, and Mining. During the second day, participants will have the option of attending paid hands-on training sessions for using the Elios 2, including a basic training session, an Advanced Indoor Inspection Methodology training, and a photogrammetry training.

Featured speakers include leaders in the inspection space and the drone industry as well as Flyability clients from several major U.S. corporations, including:

  • Mario Rebello, VP of Government Relations at DJI
  • Mauricio Calva, Nondestructive Examination Expert at Chevron
  • Suzanne Lemieux, Manager at API and Author of API’s Guide for Innovative Drone Use in Natural Gas & Oil Industry
  • Steven Putnam, Senior Operations Specialist at Duke Energy

Given the importance of inspection standards for every industry that requires inspections, the conference will also include presentations related to inspection standards and codes, including information pertaining to the standards created and maintained by organizations like ASME, API, ANSII, EPRI, and the FAA.

“This conference gives us the opportunity to celebrate the opening of our first U.S. office while also providing real value to our clients and partners,” says Johan Mlouka, Flyability Managing Director, Americas. “Through the event we hope to facilitate a conversation about ways that indoor drones can help keep workers out of harm’s way, which is in line with Flyability’s long term vision—‘no more humans doing dangerous jobs’—while also helping companies streamlining their confined spaces inspection workflow.”

Flyability has had a series of high-growth years, including an $11 million Series B fundraising round in 2018 and the release of the first-of-its-kind Elios 2 in 2019, with rapid adoption in several U.S. industries. The opening of its first U.S. office and this accompanying inaugural conference signal Flyability’s continued dedication to its clients and partners in the U.S. and surrounding areas.

“This conference is an amazing opportunity for Flyability to share the stories of its users and educate its existing clients,” says Alexandre Meldem, Flyability VP of Sales, who has spent a year and a half growing the company’s presence in North America. “Now that we have a U.S. location we can’t wait to help our clients realize even greater returns with our indoor inspection solutions.”

Flyability’s user conference will take place on March 18 and 19 at the Colorado School of Mines. Registration is free before March 1.
